PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department Thursday reported just four ICU beds were in use in the tri-county area for COVID-19 patients, down from Wednesday’s total of seven.
Overall, just 13 new cases were reported throughout the tri-county of Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties.
Seven new cases were reported in Peoria County, five cases were reported in Tazewell County, and just one new case was reported in Woodford County.
One new death was reported as a result of the virus in Tazewell County, as a woman in her 40s succumbed to the virus.
The positivity rate in Region 2 of Illinois, which includes the tri-county, remained very low at 1.3%, ICU bed capacity decreased slightly to 24%, and overall hospitalizations decreased by five to 63.
Gov. JB Pritzker announced Thursday Illinois will fully reopen Friday and enter Phase 5 of Restore Illinois.
