PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Firefighters were called just before 5 a.m. Thursday to a house fire in the area of W. Ann and Louisa Streets.
When crews arrived, they found the house fully engulfed in flames. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to knock the fire down.
Battalion Chief Clint Kuhlman said the fire appeared to start on the front porch, extending into the first and second floors, as well as the attic.
“No one was home at the time of the fire, but it was occupied. They just weren’t home at the time,” Kuhlman said.
Due to extensive damage, the home appears to be a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
