SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday reported 401 new cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, the lowest number of new cases in the state since March 25, 2020.
In addition, eight deaths were reported throughout the state due to the virus.
All metrics continue to trend in the right direction for a Phase 5 reopening on June 11.
As expected, a lower number of vaccine doses were administered on Monday due to Memorial Day as just over 17,000 doses were administered.
The seven-day rolling average of vaccine doses administered daily is at 45,545.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity is now under 2% at 1.9%.
IDPH reported more than 67% of Illinois adults have received at least one vaccine dose and nearly 51% are fully vaccinated.
As of Monday night, 1,031 Illinoisans were hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 284 were in the ICU and 162 were on ventilators.
