SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Tuesday reported the preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity for COVID-19 is 2.8%.
That number continues its decline after being 3.3% one week ago.
IDPH Tuesday also reported just under 26,000 vaccine doses administered, a number that was lowered by a server issue that pharmacies use. IDPH expects the doses not reported because of the issue to be included in Wednesday’s report.
As of Tuesday night, 1,503 Illinoisans were hospitalized with the virus. Of those, 407 were in the ICU and 234 were on ventilators.
Just one week ago, more than 1,900 Illinoisans were hospitalized with COVID-19.
1,495 new cases of COVID were reported by IDPH Tuesday, including 21 additional deaths.
