PEORIA, Ill. — The Saturday evening death of a Peoria toddler was being investigated Monday as an accident.
Emergency crews were called around 6:30 to a Peoria residence by the girl’s parents, who found her tangled in the cords of window blinds.
By the time crews arrived, the 18-month-old was lifeless. She was pronounced dead around 7:15 at OSF.
An autopsy showed the girl suffered died of strangulation.
An investigation was ongoing, but no foul play was suspected.
