PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria City/County Health Department said a total of four residents of Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties between Wednesday and Thursday passed away from COVID-19 complications.
A Peoria County man in his 60s with comorbidities was among them.
Tazewell County was hit particularly hard, with two men in their 50s and a woman in her 80s all succumbing.
Overall case totals increased by 64. 35 of the new cases are of Peoria residents, 18 are Tazewell, and the other 11 belong to Woodford.
Hospitalizations increased from 78 to 79. 24 as of Thursday afternoon were intensive care-level, a decrease from Wednesday of three.
Region Two metrics continued in the right direction. ICU bed availability ticked up another percentage point to 18%, overall regional hospitalizations dropped by 11, and rolling seven-day positivity remained at 4.3%.
