PEORIA, Ill. — Tazewell County between Tuesday and Wednesday added two deaths to its COVID-19 total, while Peoria County added one.
The Tazewell deaths consisted of two men: one in his 30s, the other in his 70s. In Peoria County, a woman in her 80s succumbed to the virus.
Peoria City/County Health Department did not report whether any of the deceased lived in long-term care or had comorbidities.
A total of 217 people from those two counties plus Woodford County found out during the reporting period they tested positive. 151 of those cases are in Peoria, 42 are in Tazewell, and 24 live in Woodford.
The same amount of people on Wednesday — 143 — were in hospitals as were hospitalized on Tuesday. 41 of the 143 were in intensive care.
The greater Region Two was down to a positivity rate of 5.2%. ICU bed availability remained at 16% and, for the seventh day in a row, the overall number of hospitalized COVID patients throughout the region either decreased or remained the same from the day prior.
