PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department Tuesday reported six new area deaths due to COVID-19.
Peoria County reported two deaths; a female in her 80s and a male in his 70s with comobidities.
Tazewell County reported three deaths; a male in his 60s, a female in her 70s, and a female in her 70s who lived at Washington Senior Living.
Woodford County reported one death, a male in his 50s.
Overall, the tri-county area reported 150 new cases. 85 were reported in Peoria County, 52 were reported in Tazewell County, and 13 new cases were reported in Woodford County.
On a good note, 24 fewer patients were in area non-ICU beds on Tuesday compared to Monday. ICU beds being used stayed the same, 44, as Monday.
Positivity rate in the region has dropped back below 7% and currently sits at 6.9%, but hospitalizations throughout the region as a whole continue to increase.
ICU bed availability in Region 2 remained at 17%.
