PEORIA, Ill. – A young child is being treated for injuries following what was reported as an accidental shooting in Peoria on Thanksgiving Day, and a man was taken into custody.
Peoria Police say it happened around 8:15 p.m. at a home on East Archer Avenue off of Knoxville and McClure.
Police confirm the shooting was an accident.
The two-year-old child’s injuries are considered non-life threatening, and the child should be ok.
Officers say Jordan Parker, 24, was arrested on a charge of Endangering the Life or Health of a Child.
He posted bond and was released from the Peoria County Jail.
No other details have been released.
