PEORIA, Ill. — A combined four residents of Peoria and Tazewell Counties passed away between Thursday and Friday from COVID-19.
A Tazewell man in his 40s succumbed to the virus, while in Peoria, a man and woman who were each in their 60s died, as did a man in his 80s.
Adding in Woodford County, a total of 266 residents of the tri-county tested positive between Thursday and Friday for the virus. 170 of those cases are Peoria residents, 86 live in Tazewell, and the other 10 resident in Woodford.
Tri-county hospitalizations for virus patients increased since Thursday by eight, from 174 to 182. 47 of the 182 were intensive care-level.
The greater Region Two’s ICU availability rate stayed at 18% for the sixth straight day. The overall number of hospitalized patients increased by six, while rolling seven-day positivity ticked up to 7.7%.
