SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Thursday reported 3,526 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 25 additional deaths.
The preliminary seven-day statewide test positivity is now up to 4%.
Within the past 24 hours, nearly 100,000 people were tested for the virus.
On the bright side, the state continues to administer more than 100,000 vaccine doses per day, with more than 116,000 being administered Wednesday.
As of Wednesday night, 1,411 individuals were in Illinois hospitals with the virus. Of those, 304 were in the ICU and 121 were on ventilators.
