PEORIA, Ill. — A Tazewell County man in his 90s between Tuesday and Wednesday became the latest area resident to die from COVID-19.
Meanwhile, an additional 10 people of Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties were admitted to hospitals for COVID or suspected cases of COVID, raising the total to 70, from Tuesday’s 60. 12 of the 60 were intensive care-level.
The number of locally hospitalized patients one week ago was just 41.
A total of 199 tri-county residents tested positive for the virus. 107 were in Peoria County, 74 were Tazewell, and 18 were Woodford.
For the greater Region Two, rolling seven-day positivity rate has reached an even 5%, the number of COVID patients in hospitals has gone up again, and ICU bed availability remained at 22%.
