GLASFORD, Ill. — A semi-truck driver is dead after a Wednesday morning unloading accident on W. Todd School Rd. in Glasford.
The driver was backing their truck up a driveway around 10:45 with the intent of unloading dirt with a dump trailer.
With the trailer in the “up” position, it reached the highest point of the driveway and hit a small grade. This caused dirt to shift, which resulted in the entire truck’s tipping over.
The cab ended up falling onto a fence post, which killed the driver, who was pronounced dead at the scene, the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office will observe proper protocol and then release other information surrounding the death, including the driver’s identity.
