SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health on Tuesday continued to warn residents as long as COVID-19 numbers are unsatisfactory, the state will not enter the “Bridge Phase” from Phase Four to Phase Five of Restore Illinois.
Specifically, the IDPH said hospital admissions continue to rise. 1,396 people as of Monday night were in hospitals throughout the state, with 308 in intensive care and 121 on ventilators.
Each 24-hour’s case count also continues to rise, the department said. 2,404 people between Monday and Tuesday tested positive, while 17 died.
The average number of vaccines given per day remained Tuesday in six digits. The daily average was 105,040, with 86,812 doses administered during the 24-hour reporting period.
Labs collected 51,579 specimens.
