SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — With 3,002 new cases of COVID-19 reported between Thursday and Friday by the Illinois Department of Public Health, the IDPH has issued new guidelines it hopes will combat further resurgence.
Local health departments may vaccinate anyone 16 or older provided the department has a relatively low demand for the vaccine. Demand is to be defined by the individual departments, IDPH said.
IDPH said Friday projections showed a total of a million vaccine doses set to be delivered throughout next week.
126,710 doses were administered during the most recent reporting period.
Labs took in 76,774 specimens to be tested.
Statewide hospitalizations as of Thursday night were at 1,302. 264 of those cases were intensive care level, and 120 patients were using ventilators.
