PEORIA, Ill. — A Tazewell County man in his 70s passed away between Wednesday and Thursday from COVID-19.
His living situation was not reported.
Overall, 164 residents of Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford Counties tested positive. 101 were in Peoria, while 42 were Tazewell, and 21 were Woodford.
Hospitalizations went from 41 to 42. 12 of the 42 were in intensive care.
Region Two entered the “red” for one key COVID metric: there have now been eight days of increases of COVID patients in hospitals throughout the region in the last 10 days. That could put the region in danger of increased restrictions, though there has not been any indication that will be the case.
Rolling seven-day test positivity held steady at 3.6%, while rolling seven-day ICU bed availability dropped to 27%.
