PEORIA HEIGHTS, Ill. — Peoria Heights businesses impacted by the coronavirus pandemic may be eligible to receive grant money, officials said Thursday.
The Commercial Expense Reimbursement Grant Program will provide up to $10,000 in grants for mortgage, lease or utility costs incurred between March 1 – December 1 of last year.
Business owners seeking grant money will need to provide documentation of at least a 25% decrease in revenue for the covered months as compared to the same time in 2019.
Applications will be accepted April 1-May 28.
Lump-sum grants will be awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis until the funds are exhausted, with approximately $95,000 of an original $250,000 still to be disbursed.
This is the third time the Village of Peoria Heights has implemented a significant relief program for local businesses.
Previous grant recipients are eligible for the program, though earlier awards will count toward the total allowed.
Applications are available on the Peoria Heights’ website and at the Village Hall at 4901 N. Prospect Road.
