WASHINGTON — The U.S. House is close to passing the Senate-passed $1.9 trillion Covid relief bill that includes $1,400 checks for most Americans, $300 weekly jobless benefits, new child allowances of up to $3,600 per year, funding for K-12 schools, assistance to state and local governments and $14 billion for vaccine distribution.
