PEORIA, Ill. — Kindred Hospital Peoria will soon be operated by OSF HealthCare.
The two sides on Tuesday announced a partnership that will see the hospital renovated, rebranded, and renamed to reflect the auspices of OSF.
Additionally, a rehabilitation unit was announced that will be for adults who have experienced loss of motor functions because of stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological problems, certain surgeries, and other conditions.
OSF said it hopes to begin offering long-term acute care and rehabilitation under its majority ownership by Sept. 1, 2022.
The Louisville, KY-based Kindred Healthcare owned around 327 locations as of September of 2020, with around 24,000 employees nationwide.
Financial terms of the deal were not immediately available.
