PEORIA, Ill. — A Peoria Police officer was injured Wednesday morning after losing control of their squad car, crashing into a business on Western Avenue.
“The squad car left the roadway and crashed into the front of the McDonald’s,” said Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
The incident happened around 6:25 a.m. when the officer was travelling north bound on N. Western near Rohmann.
“The building did sustain significant structural damage. The officer sustain what were described as minor injuries,” Dotson said.
No other injuries were reported.
The accident remained under investigation.
