SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,631 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the state’s total cases to 1,162,154 since the pandemic began.
Sunday’s report included 35 additional COVID-19 related deaths.
As of midnight Saturday, there were 1,777 people hospitalized for COVID-19. Of those patients, 373 were in intensive care, with 189 on ventilators.
Between Saturday and Sunday, Illinois conducted 64,949 tests for COVID-19. The statewide seven-day rolling positivity rate was 3%.
IDPH’s also released updated information on vaccines statewide. To date, the stated has administered 1,783,345 vaccine doses, with 244,699 at long-term care facilities.
The current seven-day rolling average for vaccines administered stands at 62,927 doses.
