PEORIA, Ill. – Most would still say the price is way too high, but weekly gas price averages have hit another water mark.
GasBuddy.com says the national average of $3.63 a gallon for unleaded is part of the longest downward streak since 2015, surpassing the record declines of 2018.
Meanwhile, the firm’s Peoria gas price average sits at $3.76 a gallon as of Monday — down almost four cents from a week ago.
AAA’s Peoria-Pekin Metro gas price average sits at just over $3.77, down a nickel.
GasBuddy analysts say problems are arising in some areas as the transition to winter blend fuel begins, and that could cause prices to start moving up again.
