PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City Council Tuesday night approved a special use for a sober living facility that will be located at 2419 N. Prospect Rd.
Occupancy in the building will be limited to seven, six residents and one staff resident.
In addition, the facility must be operational within six months of the approval Tuesday night.
Council Member Timothy Riggenbach said he contacted Peoria Park District President Robert Johnson about the facility.
“This is right across the street from the entrance to Glen Oak Park, so I thought it was important to get their input as well,” said Riggenbach. “If it’s not active in six months they’ll have to reapply for that special use.”
The motion to approve the facility passed unanimously.
