PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded just before 6:30 p.m. Monday to the 5800 block of N. Summershade Circle for a collapsed ceiling in an apartment complex.
Acting Fire Battalion Chief Scott Strum said the collapse was due to a weather-related broken pipe in a lower unit.
A partial ceiling collapse was also found in a ground level apartment with water damage.
Three residents and a dog were displaced by the damage. Temporary shelter was provided for them.
No injuries were reported.
Estimated damage to the property was $70,000.
