PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Department Monday reported an increase of 15 patients in area ICU beds compared to Friday with COVID-19.
There was, however, a decrease of two in non-ICU hospital beds.
The department also reported five new area deaths.
Three Peoria residents died of COVID-19 over the weekend: a female in her 100s who resided at Lutheran Hillside, a male in his 80s with comorbidities, and a male in his 80s who resided at Proctor Place.
The other two deaths in the tri-county area were from Tazewell County. One was a male in his 80s who lived at John Evans Assisted Living Facility in Pekin, and the other was a female in her 90s who lived at Morningside of Pekin.
Overall, Peoria County reported an increase of 144 cases over the weekend. Tazewell County had an increase of 108 cases. Woodford County had 18 new cases reported for a total of 270 across the area.
On a regional level, all requirements to stay in Phase 4 of Restore Illinois continue to be met. The only point of concern for the region is related to COVID-19 hospitalizations, as the region had an increase of one patient.
