TAZEWELL COUNTY/WOODFORD COUNTY, Ill. — The health departments of Tazewell County and Woodford County announced Wednesday they will soon be offering online scheduling for COVID-19 vaccine appointments.
No date has been attached to the start of online scheduling for Woodford County, but the Tazewell County Health Department (TCHD) said it will offer online scheduling at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5.
The appointments available in Tazewell County will be for Feb. 23 – Feb. 27 and will not be final until confirmed by TCHD via email, phone or text.
TCHD also said to be aware that appointments may fill quickly.
TCHD is encouraging online scheduling, but individuals will also be able to call the health department at 10 a.m. the same day to sign up for an appointment.
Woodford County Health Department (WCHD) has not released a date it will begin online scheduling but has said it will be in the “near future” due to high call volume.
Approximately 10,000 Woodford County residents are in the 1A and 1B categories of the State of Illinois mass vaccination plan.
WCHD encourages residents to visit its website and Facebook page regularly for more information.
TCHD says its online scheduling link will be announced when available on its website and Facebook page as well.
At this time, TCHD is vaccinating those persons in Phase 1B, including:
• Persons 65 years and older
• First Responders – Fire, police, 911 workers, security personnel, school officers
• Education (Congregate Child Care, Pre-K through 12th grade) – Teachers, principals,
students support, student aids, daycare workers
• Food and Agriculture – Processing, plants, veterinary health, livestock services, animal care
• Manufacturing – Industrial production of goods for distribution to retail, wholesale or other
manufacturers
• Corrections Workers – Prison/jail officers, juvenile facility staff, workers providing in-person
support
• Postal Services Workers
• Public Transit Workers – Flight crew, bus drivers, train conductors, taxi drivers, para-
transit drivers, in-person support, ride sharing services
• Grocery Store Workers – Baggers, cashiers, stockers, pick-up, customer service
• Shelters/Adult Day Care – Homeless shelters, women’s shelter, adult day/drop-in program,
sheltered workshop, psycho-social rehab
