PEORIA, Ill. — In one of the lowest activity reporting periods in months, the Peoria City/County Health Department on Tuesday reported 50 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths.
Peoria County had the highest new case count, with 21. Tazewell was not far behind, with 17, while Woodford reported 12.
The department did report some negative news, however, as there was a slight increase in hospitalizations, from 44 to 45. 13 of the 45 were intensive care-level.
Region Two’s rolling seven-day positivity rate ticked slightly downward, to 5.4%. The amount of COVID patients in hospitals throughout the region decreased by four.
ICU bed availability remained a trend to watch. The number as of Tuesday was 25% capacity.
That figure one week prior was at 29%. A region must remain above 20% capacity to stay in phase four of Restore Illinois.
