PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded just after 8 a.m. Thursday to the area of Graceland and Sunnyview Drive.
Fire Battalion Chief Nate Rice said crews received a call about smoke coming from a home. Upon arrival, they located the fire in the attic and the interior walls.
Rice said the blaze was out in less than 10 minutes.
An investigator determined the cause of the fire was electrical.
Two residents were able to get out of the home safely before crews arrived on the scene.
Red Cross was called in to assist the residents with temporary housing.
