WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump has become the first U.S. President ever to be impeached twice.
The House reached the 217-vote threshold Wednesday afternoon to impeach Trump on a count of incitement of insurrection.
All told, the “yea” votes totaled 232, to 197 “nay” votes.
10 Republicans were among the “yea” votes,” but 18th District Rep. Darin LaHood was not among them.
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has already said he won’t convene the Senate prior to Trump’s Jan. 20 exit from office, meaning Trump will not be ousted before the end of his term.
