PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say some serious injuries were caused during a late-morning accident Saturday.
Peoria Police spokeswoman Semone Roth says the accident occurred at 11:22 a.m., at Knoxville and Maywood, not far from the intersection of Knoxville and Forest Hill.
Three vehicles were involved, and from traffic cameras it looked like at least one vehicle hit a power pole.
Peoria Fire says one of the vehicles ended up on fire after the crash, but the blaze was able to be put out quickly.
Two males were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. One of those had to be extricated from his vehicle.
No word on the conditions of the victims, nor if any traffic tickets will be issued.
Knoxville south of Forest Hill was closed to traffic for a time for the investigation.
