PEORIA, Ill. – A North Pekin man will go to prison for six years after allegedly sharing child pornography, and trying to get more of it.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says Larry Saal, 54, was sentenced Wednesday to six years in prison after pleading guilty in February to charges of Soliciting an Obscene Visual Depiction of a Minor, and for Distribution of Child Pornography.
Saal allegedly traded child porn images with another user through the e-mail platform Yahoo in 2015 and 2016. A search of his phone last year turned up images of, and searches for, child porn.
Saal could have received as much as 20 years in prison on each charges. He must pay $13,000 in restitution.
