PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been found unfit to stand trial after he allegedly killed his grandmother.
A judge has ruled Cody Krause, 28, will spend the next year in a Department of Human Service Facility receiving mental health treatment.
That’s about the amount of time prosecutors believe it will take to make Krause fit.
Krause was arrested in April after allegedly beating his grandmother, Glenda Rusterholz, 73, to death with a hammer at a home near Kim Moor Avenue and Airport Roads in West Peoria.
25 News reports new court documents detail what Krause did after the assault, and that evidence pointing toward child pornography and related items were also found inside the home.
Another hearing is scheduled for mid-October.
