SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday reported 4,453 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in the state, including 105 additional deaths.
With those 105 deaths, the state has now had 16,074 deaths related to COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
In the past 24 hours, 51,046 specimens were reported.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate remains below 9% and currently is at 8.7%.
As of Sunday night, 4,243 people in Illinois were in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 884 were in the ICU and 515 were on ventilators.
