SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Sunday announced 3,767 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 in Illinois, including 104 additional deaths.
Tests, as expected, were down over the Christmas weekend as only 46,226 people in Illinois were tested between Saturday and Sunday.
As of Saturday night, 4,083 people in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19. Of those, 905 were in the ICU and 497 were on ventilators.
The preliminary seven-day statewide positivity rate is now below 9% and currently sits at 8.5%.
