SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — 7,037 people between Wednesday and Thursday throughout Illinois tested positive for COVID-19.
96 deaths during that time were reported.
Labs throughout the state collected 94,909 specimens to be tested.
4,408 people as of Wednesday night were in Illinois hospitals with the virus or with suspected cases of it. 944 of them were in intensive care, and 518 required ventilator help.
