PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say a young person was injured during a shooting Wednesday afternoon in a home the West Bluff area.
It happened near Frink and Main around 1:45 p.m. A police spokesperson only described the victim as a “child” who was shot in the leg, and said the youth was taken to the hospital. 25 News, however, reports the the child is three years old and was in stable condition later Wednesday afternoon.
Police Chief Eric Echevarria says there’s otherwise no threat to the public.
An investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
