SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Nearly 200 Illinoisans for a second consecutive 24-hour reporting period passed away from COVID-19 complications.
The Illinois Department of Public Health said 190 deaths between Thursday and Friday occurred throughout the state, while 9,420 new positive tests were recorded.
Testing labs throughout the state collected 104,448 specimens. The rolling seven-day positivity rate was 9.4%.
5,141 of Illinois’s hospital beds were being used by virus patients. 1,081 of them were in intensive care and 635 of them were using ventilators.
