SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Monday announced 8,691 new and probable cases of COVID-19 throughout the state, including 90 additional deaths.
In the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported 77,569 specimens.
The seven-day rolling positivity rate in the state remains the same as it was on Friday at 10.3%
There are, however, fewer people hospitalized with the virus as of Sunday night compared to Friday.
As of Sunday night, 5,190 people in Illinois were in the hospital with the virus compared to 5,453 at the end of last week.
Of those hospitalized, 1,123 were in the ICU and 648 were on ventilators.
