Peoria will be in the disc golfing spotlight over the next week as the 2019 world championships come to town.
The 2019 PDGA Professional Disc Golf World Championships will take place August 13-17. Golfers from 14 countries will be competing at various locations around the area.
Nate Heinold, tournament director, says Peoria is one of the best disc golfing locations in the country. “There are more disc golf courses in this area then regular golf courses.”
On Sunday, Washington Community High School will play host to an Edge Skillshot Contest, Long Drive Contest and the World Putty Championship. The championships begin Tuesday at Lake Eureka.
