PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood has identified the man who died after being hit by a car Monday night on Knoxville as 68-year-old Michael McIntosh of Peoria.
Autopsy, Harwood says, demonstrated that McIntosh suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries, and likely died instantly.
Toxicology is pending.
The accident remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department Traffic Unit.

PEORIA, Ill. – Just before 5:30 p.m. Monday evening, Peoria Police were called to the 8500 block of N. Knoxville at Picture Ridge Road due to an accident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
After the accident, an off-duty nurse was performing CPR on the man before Peoria firefighters and AMT medics took over.
“A witness at the scene stated the male was standing in a southbound lane of traffic when he was struck by an SUV travelling southbound. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene,” Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said.
A secondary minor crash occurred between the SUV and a vehicle traveling northbound on Knoxville, according to Dotson.
Original scanner traffic reported the man was on a bicycle, but was later said to be on foot.
The accident remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Department Traffic Unit.
