PEORIA, Ill. – The National Weather Service in Lincoln confirms high winds, downed power lines and hail accompanied severe storms that rolled through Central Illinois Thursday night.
In Elmwood, 63 mph winds and power lines were reported down on McClellan Road around 6:30 p.m.
In Laura, power poles were down on Rt. 150 at Elmore Road, shutting the road down.
Power lines were reportedly down just south of Dunlap just after 7 p.m.
In Rome, 60 mph winds and 1 inch hail was reported around 7:30 p.m.
A funnel cloud was reported in Alta around 7:11 p.m.
There were reports of dime size hail in Chillicothe just before 7:30 p.m.
Quarter size hail was reported in Mapleton–off Hwy 24 at 7:37 p.m.
Pekin reportedly had nickel sized hail around 7:30 p.m. South Pekin had an inch and a half sized hail around the same time.
Farmington had pea to dime sized hail near Main and Vernon Streets around 6:30 p.m.
