PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria man has been indicted on multiple charges for alleged abuse against his girlfriend.
A Peoria County grand jury on Tuesday indicted 35-year-old Calvin Freeman in two separate incidents for Attempt First Degree Murder, two counts of Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Battery, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
Peoria Police responded on October 5th to a hospital, finding a victim with a gunshot wound to the base of her neck, with Freeman alleged to be the shooter.
The victim suffered other injuries that included a broken clavicle, broken ribs, and a lacerated lung.
Freeman is also accused in court documents of strangling the same victim in a September incident in Peoria.
Freeman is due back in court Thursday for arraignment.
