PEORIA, Ill. – The man accused of a shooting inside a Bradley University dorm early Sunday morning that injured a woman was released from pre-trial custody on Tuesday.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 19-year-old Edward Traywick was released with conditions that include GPS monitoring and to not possess any dangerous weapons.
A judge cited a lack of a criminal history for Traywick, as well as being gainfully employed.
An 18-year-old female was shot in the abdomen and was being taken to a local hospital when the vehicle was stopped by police.
Prosecutors say Traywick was one of the people in the vehicle, and allegedly found to have a backpack which contained a loaded handgun during the stop.
Prosecutors say the victim was interviewed on Monday, and identified Traywick as the shooter, but that the shooting was accidental.
