(Reuters) -A federal judge said on Monday she will block President Donald Trump’s administration from forcing several Democratic-led states to remove all references to “gender ideology” from sexual health education curricula in order to receive federal grant funding.
U.S. District Judge Ann Aiken in Eugene, Oregon, during a telephonic hearing, said she intends to issue a preliminary injunction at the behest of 16 states and the District of Columbia, whose lawyers argued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ new policy would force them to effectively “edit transgender kids out of their curricula.”
