PEORIA, Ill. – Police have made another arrest in connection with the murder of a 15-year-old Peoria boy last week.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says late Thursday night, 18-year-old Jaxson Robinson was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals and the PPD’s Special Investigations Division at a home on W. McClure.
Robinson was arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail on charges including first-degree murder for the homicide of Keyaun Schmitt-Hardimon.
On Thursday, 18-year-old Cortez Smith was ordered to be held for first-degree murder.
18-year-old Curtis Jones and 27-year-old Jafari Robinson were previously charged with trying to conceal evidence and obstructing justice in Schmitt-Hardimon’s death.
An additional charge of first-degree murder was later added to Jafari Robinson’s case.
Hardimon suffered two gunshot wounds and was found in a rolled-up rug in the basement of a home on N. Sheridan Road early in the morning on Wednesday, October 1st.
