PEKIN, Ill. – The head pastor of Peoria’s Riverside Community Church has been arrested for dissemination of harmful materials to a juvenile.
On Sunday, Pekin Police were notified of evidence related to the case. An investigation led to the arrest of 47-year-old Michael Ritchason for dissemination of Harmful Materials, a Class 4 Felony, on Wednesday. He has since been released.
Ritchason is a former elementary school teacher, having taught 3rd grade at Willow Elementary School in Pekin. He is also a former Pekin City Council member.
Pekin Police Chief Seth Ranny says the investigation has been forwarded to the Tazewell County State’s Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
