PEORIA, Ill. – The mother of a teenaged homicide victim in Peoria from this week says she is taking it one day at a time.
15-year-old Keyaun Hardimon was found shot dead in a home near Sheridan and McClure, and two people have been arrested in connection.
His mother, Kenyuanna Hardimon, tells WMBD’s “The Phil Luciano Show” what Keyaun was like.
“He was goofy, he was a leader, he loved to play sports, and he loved to be outside,” Kenyuanna said.
Kenyuanna says he enjoyed playing basketball and football, and loved his family and relatives. She says he wanted to be a barber and a welder because Kayaun loved to work with his hands.
Kenyuanna is hopeful that people live and take to heart the lessons and values that her son taught.
“To be ourselves no matter what, courage, don’t let nobody bully you, stand strong to be you,” Kenyuanna said.
