PEORIA, Ill. – One of the three defendants in a fatal shooting case in South Peoria in June has been found guilty of murder.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 17-year-old Lamar Cagle was found guilty on Wednesday of First Degree Murder in the death of 20-year-old Teron Scott. Cagle was also found guilty of Aggravated Battery with a Firearm after a three day trial.
Scott died in the early morning hours of June 20th after suffering a gunshot wound to the head in the back of a vehicle that had crashed when the suspect vehicle drove recklessly to catch up to it.
Prosecutors say Cagle could be heard discussing being one of the shooters on a dash cam in the suspect vehicle that recorded the shooting.
Cagle is set to be sentenced November 19th.
20-year-old Christopher Adams and 18-year-old Kemareon Bell are also charged with murder in connection to the shooting, and both awaiting trial.
