PEORIA, Ill. – A boil order is in effect for portions of northwest Peoria after a water main break.
Illinois American Water says emergency repairs began at around 10:30 A.M. along War Memorial Drive between Mountello and Allen Road.
The utility says people could experience service interruptions or low water pressure.
Repairs are expected to take around 10 hours to finish.
In the meantime, residents are asked to bring any water used for cooking or drinking to a rolling boil for five minutes.
Water is okay to use for bathing or laundry.
