NORMAL, Ill. (25 News) – Rivian has announced more layoffs within its global workforce.
The electric vehicle maker says it will cut 1.5 percent of its workforce worldwide, or less than 225 workers, in preparation toward manufacturing more economical SUVs.
It is not known how many workers at its plant in Normal are affected.
This announcement follows a similar announcement in June when Rivian said it was reducing one percent of its workforce, or about 150 workers.
Rivian said affected workers are encouraged to apply for other open positions in the company.
